What is Testicular pain





The testicle is made up of two testes i.e. testis and is called testicles in English, which is part of the male reproductive organ. Its function is to produce a male hormone called semen and testosterone. The testes are shaped like eggs, which provide protection from the outside to the scrotum. Pain or discomfort in this organ is called pain in the testicles, which can be acute and chronic (prolonged). This pain can be caused by some disease and injury. Apart from this, you may also have to face stomach pain or a groin pen before having a pen in the testicle due to testicle problems.





What are the symptoms of testicular pain?



  • Scratch feeling
  • Redness on the scrotum
  • Scrotum feeling hot or sensitive to skin
  • Scrotum swelling

What causes testicular pens?

What tests are done to test for pain in the testicles?



To find out the reason behind the pain in the testicles, the doctor may take the help of the following tests along with the physical exam and medical history. like-

  • Blood test
  • Investigation of urethra swab due to fear of STD
  • Ureen culture
  • Urinalysis test
  • Examination of the prostate by rectal examination
  • A color droppler testicular ultrasound to check for blood flow to the testicles, fear of testicular tumor, fluid collection, testicular rupture and hernia.
  • Radionuclide imaging to investigate testicular torzon or other causes of pain in the testicles.
  • X-ray or CT scan of kidney / ureter / bladder.
